KB DAYS
DISABILITY OLYMPIADES
CAMBODIA 10’s
KB Days
KB days bring together almost all of the beneficiaries of our programs for a day of sports activities. These days also aim to highlight the themes that are the essence of the Balopp Initiative, namely gender equality, social inclusion and disability. All children are mixed together and enjoy a morning of fun.
Disability Olympiades
Once a year, we organize the Disability Olympiad. The objective of these sports days is to discuss and raise awareness around the topic of disability while showing the benefits of practicing sport for people with disabilities.
Each team is made up of 4 children: a child with a cognitive disability, a hearing-impaired child, a child from a local NGO, and a Grade 7 child from the Lycée Français.
After a day of discussions and traditional Cambodian games, all the teams (usually around 15) compete against each other in several sporting challenges that are as varied as they are original. This is the opportunity to witness a demonstration of solidarity and adaptability thanks to which the participants need to surpass themselves and give the best of themselves.
This competition was last held in 2019, but it is expected that it can take place again in 2022.
Cambodia Ten’s
Every year, we organise a contact rugby tournament with teams that come from all over the world: the Cambodia 10’s.
There are three categories of competition: Women’s, Men’s and Old Boys (> 35 years old). Plus, demonstration games by the children under the KB program.
This good-natured charity tournament aims to promote sport as a pillar of education in Cambodia.
