Teamwork
We have established strong partnerships with existing Cambodian organisations that work with poor and/or disabled children, such as schools, education centres, and international NGOs as well as with public and private schools. We work directly with the children of our beneficiary partners by setting up a structured and weekly sports activity supervised by our sports educators.
Our Beneficiary partners
Kampuchea Balopp Program
Due to years of experience, we have developed our own Kampuchea Balopp program. This is based on education and social integration through sport as well as the development of motor and sports skills.
Our program is adapted according to the types of profile (age, gender, motor skills, disability) and the different structures with which we work.
Different activities are offered: fun activities in the form of sports such as touch rugby, tag rugby or contact rugby. Our Sports Educators also offer other activities such as basketball, volleyball and ultimate. For disabled children, the program is adjusted. Please see the Handi Balopp program below.
Social integration events are also an integral part of the program: the KB Days which take place once a quarter and bring together around 600 children.
Atlas All School Program
Since 2019, we have been implementing a new program, funded by the Atlas Foundation and the Anita, Alex and Annabel Nicholson Memorial Fund, which targets public schools in the provinces.
This program consists of introducing sports activities into the educational programs of our partner schools as well as training local Sports Educators. Our desire is for the partners with whom we work to also improve their skills and in the future be able to ensure these sports activities continue in total autonomy.
This program is operational in the provinces of Oudong, Kampong Cham and Siem reap soon.
Handi Balopp Program
We work with international NGOs and centres that welcome children with disabilities, such as sight, hearing or cognitive impairment. Our program is tailor-made to assist these children and develop their confidence and sporting skills. Depending on the disability level, we offer activities, games and sports to develop motor skills, and some learn contact rugby. We also offer blind football for visually impaired youths.
Every year, we organise the Disability Olympiad to raise awareness about the benefits of practicing sport for children with a disability. To learn more, click here.
Good Sport Campaign
On cycles of 8 weeks, the last 15 minutes of our training sessions are dedicated to sending messages to children through different themes. To convey these messages our Sports Educators’ use illustrations and build interactive sessions allowing children to better understand and assimilate. They learn the essential skills of interpersonal skills or how to manage conflict, make group decisions and respect for gender equality. This program enables our young people to develop personally and become better people on and off the rugby pitch.
Go Green Program
This program, conducted in partnership with Go Green Cambodia, promotes environmental awareness for the children benefiting from our programs, as well as their families. This involves getting them to participate in fun and concrete actions such as collecting waste and having short interactive info sessions during sports activities where they can learn about the benefits of being more environmentally aware.
